Offering a Supportive and Therapeutic Environment
The individuals we serve include those experiencing gradual memory decline or other memory, behavior and medical complications associated with dementia.
Specialized dementia programming and care approaches are designed to create personal successes for each resident, helping the resident to experience positive emotions. The therapeutic environment is supportive rather than curative.
Our staff is trained in clinical care and is well-versed in the recent advances in dementia and Alzheimer’s. In addition, they:
- participate in ongoing in-service training
- communicate with an emphasis on understanding non-verbal behavior
- intervene creatively when it comes to behavior problems
- focus on what residents can do instead of what they cannot do
Our commitment to our residents is also demonstrated through our involvement in the Alzheimer’s Association A Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We are dedicated to educating the public and generating awareness about the disease as well as contributing to research to find a cure.
